| Qin Music |
The original Qin is usually called a Guqin (old Qin) or Qixianqin (seven string Qin). Tradition says that the Qin is unchanged since the Zhou emperors addes two strings to the original five arround 3000 years ago. The earliest Qin we have now (unearthed in the 1970s) was made 2500 years ago. Today Qins, which were manufactured in the centuries of the Tang, Song or Ming Dynasty are still played by famous Qin masters. The Lei family of Sichuan Province during the Tang Dynasty is said to be the golden age of Qin making. |
